About the Vegans

That’s what our friends call us: “The Vegans”. Apparently that is our distinguishing feature.

Both of us are cooks with a knack for creativity and delicious flavour combinations. Together, we are a formidable team, and we are prepared to blow your mind with our culinary creations. Or something like that.

Kaylie

Chef and tomboy intellectual from the American Southwest. She shadowed her mother in the kitchen as a child, but didn’t realize her true potential as an intuitive, self-made chef until she moved to Vancouver and started hanging out with vegans. Now, after graduating with a BA in Communication, she’s working as a right to food activist and program co-ordinator for Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House, where she creates meal plans that highlight taste, cultural diversity, and quality for some of Vancouver’s most nutritionally vulnerable residents.

Malloreigh

Sous Chef and nerd, senior blog writer, photographer, and master of web. She’s also a part-time student, a marketing co-ordinator for local pubs and restaurants, and hopes to write science fiction novels someday. She has been vegan since 2004 and developed a decent cooking ability on her own out of necessity, but didn’t realize how truly she could be schooled until she started cooking with Kaylie.
